Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards, on behalf of the City Council, issued an official proclamation to recognize April 7-13, 2019 as National Volunteer Week in the City of Tacoma. It urges fellow residents to volunteer in their respective communities stating: By recognizing those who serve, we can come together to make a difference.
Volunteerism brings people together to tackle society’s greatest challenges such as homelessness. The proclamation acknowledges FUSION volunteers who tirelessly share their time and talent with those in need.
“As the new Executive Director of FUSION, I continue to be amazed and inspired by the work being accomplished by our dedicated and compassionate volunteers,” states Robin O’Grady. “From volunteers who repair and clean our housing units to the people who work in the FUSION Boutique, Board of Directors members and those in promotional, fundraising and operations, more hands make light work reducing homelessness in the communities we serve.”
