The Seattle Division of Lennar Homes presented FUSION with a check for $10,000 to support the Family Center Finally Home fund as part of the company’s Focused Acts of Caring program. The donation will help families in the FUSION program secure permanent housing.
FUSION created Finally Home to assist families in securing permanent housing with funds for first month’s rent, security deposit, application fees, utility deposits and moving expenses when no other community resources are available. The program bridges the gap for FUSION families who are gainfully employed and able to sustain monthly rent, but do not have the means to pay initial expenses to secure a rental unit.
Lennar’s corporate culture encompasses more than just monetary donations. Each year, divisions of their nationwide company participate in Focused Acts of Caring efforts for charities across the country. This endeavor includes time and energy commitments to help nonprofit organizations achieve their goals.
In the past year Lennar of Seattle has provided material and manpower to reroof and replace flooring in several of the FUSION transitional housing units, along with multiple furniture donations from their model homes.
“Part of our mission at Lennar is community involvement,” said Julie Siegler, Lennar Seattle Division Director of Marketing. “We believe in doing the right thing for the right reason. Helping FUSION families with housing support extends our mission.”
